About Me
YA Author. Reader. Gamer. Geek.

Writer. Geek. Tech enthusiast. Tea diva. I’m either a multi-faceted young-adult author or a commitment-phobic escapist. Probably a little of both.
Residing in a college town in Michigan, I spend my days writing as an instructional designer. At night, I try to create fantastic worlds populated with remarkable characters. Some days are better than others.
The Long Version:
I was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. I started writing as soon as I could read, and my early stories were full of beautiful princesses, daring heroes and talking dogs. Things haven’t changed much since then – except the princesses are the ones doing the rescuing.
By the time I was twelve, I’d devoured all of the books at the local library, as well as written three of my own. And then I realized that I wanted to be a storyteller too. I continued to write, but after graduating from University (and spending a year living in England), I unfortunately discovered that there’s not a huge market for English majors in the real world. Broke and living at home, I turned to the only writing job I could find – creating technical manuals for a software company.
I’ve spent the ensuing years writing training documents by day and creating fantastic worlds populated by interesting characters by night. I’ve also traveled throughout the US and Europe, received a Master’s degree in Human Resources, and found my soul-mate.
I currently live in Michigan with my other half and our pets – a dog and two cats. I spend way too much money on tea and chocolate, can’t resist the smell of new books, and love that my laptop keeps me warm during the cold winters. Oh, and I can’t cook to save my life. Luckily I fell in love with someone who can.
