My fab CP Gina posted today about finishing her first draft and I have to say I am totally in the same boat! I finished the first draft of Ultraviolet Catastrophe last weekend and am ECSTATIC about it. I know it’s just a first draft, but I love this book SO MUCH and I’m so excited about it that I can barely stand it (you can read the blurb on my What I’m Working on Page – though it still needs some work).
This book has SO many things I love – science, geeks, mystery, hot guys, computers, romance, friendship. And after Time Bound, it was just FUN to write. I love Lexie, my main character – she’s spunky and a little bit broken. But I REALLY love Asher, the resident genius and local playboy. And one of the reasons I love him is his t-shirt collection.
I’ll admit it, I can be as nerdy and geeky as my characters, and I LOVE cool shirts, so Asher and I have that in common. And so in almost every scene, he’s sporting a fun, science-y shirt. I thought I’d share a couple with you so you can get as sense of his personality. Most of these come from ThinkGeek.com, one of the best places on the internet for cool shirts ๐
(The fantastic Leigh Ann Kopans designed this one for me)
I’m actually kind of sad to be done with my first draft. Shocking, I know! But I just loved hanging out with these characters so much. Good think I have plenty of revising ahead of me! And yeah, Asherโs always on the lookout for new shirts to add to his wardrobe, so let me know if you find any cool ones!
Jamie, I want to read this SO FREAKING BADLY. Like, I can’t even say anything else about it. Just give it to me. Now. Please. Before I die. Or something equally dramatic.
Go Jamie Go!! I couldn’t wait to jump on the “finished” bandwagon with you! Sending lots of hugs and chocolate for revision time!! (And I can’t wait to meet Asher. You know I love a good t-shirt collection!)
Asher sounds great. I really love the “in my day we had nine planets” shirt ๐
Also I wanted to say thanks for hosting PitchOn. I am entered for one of your workshops. I follow you over at http://www.anythingimagined.blogspot.com
Nice to meet you. Be talking to you again soon.
