I’m Back!

And though I missed you all. I sure do wish I could have stayed on vacation forever! (I will have a picture post in the near future after I can unload my camera!) It was lovely to have two weeks to myself to sleep and read and relax. I had a tough spring and it was just what I needed to recharge and renew. Now I’m back and ready to go! I have edits to dig in to, crit partners to critique, query letters to write. I’m hoping to get the WIP polished enough to start querying this fall, so that means I need to get working. Now.

And I’ll still be blogging of course!

To be honest, I’m having a bit of a quandary with the blog – I recently read a post that said writers shouldn’t just blog about writing, and I’ve kind of been thinking that myself. I don’t really feel like I have much to add to all of the advice and comments out there on how to get published. And really, though I know you guys are great and supportive, I’m sure there are only so many posts on my process you can stand. 😛

So I’m thinking about starting a new series on the blog soon…and I hope you will all like it. I have a few more things to line up, but once I do, expect fun things 🙂 (Ok, not *that* fun, there won’t be chocolate involved or anything) And it’ll still be writing related. Let’s be honest, my life is pretty boring and I don’t have much else to talk about. But I’m hoping to give it a new twist.

And of course I want to address anything you guys might be interested in. As well as open up the blog to guest posts from all of you. This community is such a wealth of information that I want to share as much as possible! Just shoot me an email or post a comment if you’d like to guest post in the future.

So tell me…what do *you* want to talk about?

  1. I’m so glad you’re back!!  I’ve missed you and our writing camaraderie.  I was just thinking of bugging you to see if you had pages for me 🙂

    • I’ve missed you too! And yes! I will have pages for you soon!

  2. Welcome back! Looking forward to your new series! Personally, I love blogs that don’t just focus on writing!

    • Thanks Laura! Hopefully the new series will be interesting to folks, though I’m a little nervous about it 🙂

  3. If I had post suggestions I would be hoarding them for myself 😉  I’m kind of at the same point, trying to figure out what to talk about on my blog.  I like doing Friday recommendations.  I think ideally in addition I’d have one post a week on something writing-related and one on something random.  But writing stuff doesn’t have to be just advice–it can be “this is what I’d like to see in a book” or “this is an idea I have for a story that I will probably never have time to write” or “this is a scene I want to write that doesn’t fit in any book.”

    • Ha! I never realized how hard it was to keep a blog fresh. But I do love your Friday recommendations – SO helpful! And I think you’re right – I just need to look for ways to keep the writing posts fresh and not repeat all of the info already out there.

      • Good! I’m glad the recommendations are useful. They tend to get the least comments, so I don’t always know, but I figure that’s because they aren’t really meant for discussion so much as general information.
