A Working Holiday

I had a lovely, relaxing break. Got to visit with my sister who was here from LA, got to hang out with my honey and watch movies. Played a few video games (Damn you, WOW, for being such a time-suck!), and read a few books.

And then I decided to get all crafty.

I saw this wreath last month on Long Distance Drive and completely fell in love. I needed it. I *wanted* it. So I decided to make one for myself. Big mistake. Do you have any idea how long it takes to roll a hundred or so rosettes from book paper???? Do you?

40 hours.

Yeah. I spent the equivalent of a week at work making this thing. There goes my idea for gifting them. However, it is gorgeous, I have to admit. And I’m rather proud of myself for being so crafty. Unfortunately, it also cut into my revision time, which wasn’t good. But, now that I’ve blistered my fingers with the glue gun, the paper cuts have started to heal and I’m done with being crafty, I can get back to work.

Until I find the next shiny object!

Hope you all had a fantastic holiday. What did you guys do? I want to hear about all your fun activities!

  1. Wow that is a lot of work for a wreath! But it is beautiful. I know exactly what you mean about video games. My hubby and I got a Wii and it is addicting!

    • Thanks, Heather! I really do love the way it looks, but I’m not sure I have enough time to make more!!!

Ohhh! I keep thinking about getting a Wii but haven’t taken the plunge yet – sounds like a lot of fun!
